19th century monuments from Pere Lachaise and other Paris cemeteries...

Joslin Hall Rare Books is pleased to be able to offer some attractive plates of monuments from the antique guide book "Nouveau Conducteur aux Cimetieries du Pere Lachaise, Montmartre, Mont-Parnasse et Vaugirard", published in Paris in 1841.

(please note- this picture shows one of these prints as it might look matted and framed, but these prints are not matted or framed)

The Parisian cemeteries were among the first to pioneer the 19th century "Garden Cemetery" movement, the transformation of cemeteries from dank, dreadful places to park-like areas that were fully landscaped and filled with monuments and gravestones which showcased the talents of leading sculptors and stone carvers.

These delightful small engravings are ready
for your custom matting and framing-
