The Book Elves have been wildly excited about the prospect of a new Royal
Baby -they have been referring to him as "Prince Gandolf" and sitting up
nights cudgeling their brains into a stupor thinking about what to get him
as a christening present. They finally decided that a miniature throne
would be perfect, and wanted to make one in the Cataloging Cave workshop.
Not being a complete idiot, I had banned them from any contact with power
tools after the Easter Bunny Float Fiasco, and I suggested they buy
something less extravagant. A week later they announced that they had
found a replica throne (they said), it came from the prop department at a
movie studio tag sale (they said). It was gorgeous. Really gorgeous. Maybe
too gorgeous. That looks like real gold leaf (I said), and those look like
real rubies (I said). It's amazing what you can do with a 3-d printer
these days (they said).

And then the British Museum SWAT Team came crashing through the windows,
waving guns and asking awkward questions about a missing 12th century
throne

But before they were bundled up by INTERPOL and whisked away for
interrogation at an undisclosed location, the Book Elves finished our
latest catalog-
